Lanyard Attack

We have all seen them. They are the cords, ropes or whatever substance is used to make them which you wear around your neck. There is advertising on them and they carry an item on the end. They are lanyards.Lanyards have been around since the middle ages when ropes were used to go around your neck allowing you to free up your hands for other work. The maker usually put his name on the product, so he could sell more to other people who saw them.As time went on, the use of lanyard as a marketing tool overshadowed every other use. Today they are often used to identify your favorite sports team or a popular politician. But Horace was of a different mind. He carried at all time a series of magick and Satan like figures and symbols he had placed in a certain array. He, alone, knew their combined meaning if there even was one. Today, Horace was at the mall and there was a vendor with a kiosk who was painting personal markings on a lanyard. The vendor, at first, refused to draw them for Horace. He called the symbols scary, replete with horror and capable of drawing out evil. Horace offered more money.

The vendor need cash. A deal was struck. Warily, the vendor showed Horace the finished product. It was everything Horace wanted. Strange non-describable symbols adorned the lanyard from top to bottom. He proudly placed it around his neck and attached to it his car keys. He headed off, showing everyone who would look his disturbingly painted lanyard. Having shown everyone who would look on the first floor of the shopping center, Horace headed for the escalator. As he stepped on the moving staircase, the escalator drew him to his knees, sucking in through the moving steps a piece of the wildly drawn lanyard. It tightened around Horace’s neck and kept getting tighter and tighter. The shoppers stared in horror as the escalator pulled the lanyard off Horace’s lifeless body. Horace was dead, the escalator could do moreIt stopped and left the remaining part of the death tool on the floor of the mall.
